Museum Excursion to Santa Fe

We are taking a FREE fiber arts road trip in our excursion van!
Join us to see the exhibition Intersection: Color and Form the NM State Capitol’s Rotunda Gallery and explore the Museum of International Folk Art!
Cael Chappell, the founder and owner of Fiber Arts on 4th, has three baskets featured in the show alongside other New Mexican artists.
Schedule (Tentative depending on traffic)
- 9:45 am: For those joining us in the van, we will start the day by meeting at Fiber Arts on 4th no later than 9:40am, departing at 9:45am.
- 11:00 am: We will view the Intersection: Color and Form at the Roundhouse.
- 12:00 pm: We will head over to Museum Hill for lunch. Please pack a lunch or bring money to buy lunch at the museum cafe.
- 1:00 pm: After lunch, we will explore the Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has a number of exhibitions on display, including Truths Be Told: Artists Activate Traditions, which features regalia, basketry, textile practices and more.
- Note: Tickets to the museum are free during the Museum’s construction period while the primary exhibit is closed! Please bring money for tickets (Adult: $7 For New Mexico Residents, $12 for Non-Residents) just in case renovations are complete by the day we go.
- 2:30 pm: We will depart for Albuquerque no later than 2:30pm. Depending on traffic, we will be back at Fiber Arts on 4th before 4:00pm.
The van excursion is free, but there are a limited number of seats available only to those who register. When registering, please select the ticket that says “VAN RIDE + Museum Excursion.”
Anyone is welcome to meet up with us at the Roundhouse or at the Museum of International Folk Art if they are arranging their own transportation. If you’d like to receive updates on where the group is meeting in case the timings run early or late, please RSVP by selecting the ticket that says “Museum Excursion ONLY.”

About Intersection: Color and Form: This exhibition of contemporary mixed media art by New Mexico artists will be on display in the NM State Capitol’s Rotunda Gallery from April 3 to December 18th 2026, open 9 am to 6 pm Monday-Friday. Dr. Cynthia Sanchez, PhD, Director of the Capital Art Collection, curated the collection.
