Pine Needle Basket with Thread

In this pine needle basketry workshop, learn how to weave baskets with natural materials using coiling techniques.
You will create a coiled pine-needle basket using a brass coiling tube, waxed cord, pine needles and a needle.
The Instructor will provide cleaned, prepped pine-needles and waxed cord to use in class, as well as a materials bag containing a brass coiling tube, needle and a small bundle of dried pine needles to take home.
Students can create a basket or a wall piece. Clean prepped pine-needles will be supplied.

a snack, a drink, and note-taking materials.

Carrie BottoI started weaving on stones with beads about 30 years ago and it evolved from there. I consider my self a multimedia weaver, using beads, yucca, raffia, paper pine needles and rope to create baskets. I also weave with string to create wall hangings and paper cord to sculpt pieces.
