Weaving with Wire: Creating Woven Metal Fabric

During this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Prepare a 3 yard warp out of wire, 3/8” to 1” wide
- Beam the wire warp onto a 4-8 harness small floor or table loom
- Weave the 3 yard woven metal warp to be used for jewelry or small sculpture
- Sculpt with woven metal fabric and various ways of connecting for different applications
Lectures will include information about applying the woven metal fabric for basketry, jewelry, 3D sculpture, and bas-relief 2D wall art.
After the workshop, you will have unlimited access to Christine’s online curriculum for continued support and learning.
Students should have basic weaving knowledge.
Three-Day Workshop
Day 1 – Friday, November 6, 2026
Day 2 – Saturday, November 7, 2026
Day 3 – Sunday, November 8, 2027



Note: This workshop is intended for students who have a basic understanding of the warping and weaving process.

- Materials $5 (includes novelty yarns)
- Students should bring:
a packed lunch, drink, and note-taking materials. The instructor will provide a more detailed list of requirements in advance of the class.

Christine MillerChristine is a life long fiber artist with experience in weaving, sewing, basketry, embroidery, felting, dyeing, knitting, crochet, and fiber sculpture. Christine has been weaving for over 50 years, 30+ with wire as fiber. She is a former visual arts educator with local, state, and national arts education recognition.
